There will always be at least two teachers in the classroom. Maximum class size
is 12 students, with a 6:1 student-adult ratio.

All lead teachers are NYS Certified and have their fingerprints on file in accordance with NYS law.

Audra Muscatiello
Owner/ Lead Teacher, 3 year old classes

Audra has earned a BS in elementary education and a Masters in reading. She taught in the Averill Park School District for five years. Her two children attend Scotia-Glenville schools and Audra has volunteered in the school district in a variety of roles. Currently Audra is an active member of the PTA. She is also on the board of the S-G Education Foundation and chairs the Awards Committee. Audra enjoys teaching preschoolers and is proud of Open Door Preschool. She is excited to combine her professional experiences with the knowledge of preschoolers that she has acquired from being a parent.

Kathy Durant
Lead Teacher, 4 year old classes

Kathy has a Bachelor's degree in math and education and a Master's degree in reading. She has taught at the elementary level for 8 years in both private and public schools. She became a stay at home mom to raise her two daughters. In the past years she has been a member of the local MOMS Club, a craft instructor at Halfmoon Senior Center, and currently is a member of the children's liturgy program at St. Joseph's Church. Kathy is enthusiastic about bringing her love of learning and joy of working with children to Open Door Preschool.


Lisa Daskalakis
Teacher, 3 year old classes

Lisa is very excited to be joining Open Door Preschool's 3 year old class. She has been working with 3 and 4 year old preschoolers for the past 5 years. Prior to her preschool experience, Lisa worked in the Scotia-Glenville School District with elementary-aged children. Her son also attended S-G schools and now attends college. In her free time Lisa enjoys arts and crafts and spending time with her husband at their camp.


Carol Terwilliger
Teacher, 4 year old classes

Carol has a Master's degree in Elementary Education.  She was a first grade teacher at St. Helen's School for six years.  When her children arrived from South Korea, Carol became a stay at home mom.  During that time, she has also enjoyed ushering at Proctors Theatre, being a Girl Scout leader and volunteering in a variety of ways at Glen-Worden Elementary School.  Carol substitutes as a teacher in the Scotia-Glenville Elementary Schools.  She enjoys young children and loves traveling with her family and doing arts and crafts.
