There will always be at least two teachers in the classroom. Maximum class size
is 12 students, with a 6:1 student-adult ratio.

All lead teachers are NYS Certified and have their fingerprints on file in accordance with NYS law.

Audra Muscatiello
Owner/ Lead Teacher

Audra has earned a BS in elementary education and a Masters in reading. She taught in the Averill Park School District for five years before staying at home with her two children for a few years. Audra founded Open Door Preschool in 2009 and has enjoyed teaching little ones ever since. Her two children attend Scotia-Glenville schools, and Audra volunteers in the district in a variety of roles. Currently Audra is the Membership Chair of the Glendaal PTA. She is also on the board of the S-G Education Foundation, chairs its Awards Committee and is treasurer for the foundation. Audra enjoys teaching preschoolers and is proud of Open Door Preschool. She enjoys combining her professional experiences with the knowledge of preschoolers that she has acquired from being a parent.

Lisa Keating
Lead Teacher, 4 year old class

Lisa is honored to be the newest member of the Open Door Preschool family. She has a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Education, both from the College of Saint Rose. Before becoming a stay-at-home-mom, Lisa taught Living Environment at Mohonasen High School for 6 years and was an adjunct professor at Schenectady County Community College. Her two girls are graduates of Open Door Preschool and currently attend Scotia-Glenville schools, where Lisa is an active member of the PTA. Lisa is also currently a volunteer baker and catechist for 1 st grade at The Church of the Immaculate Conception. Lisa loves teaching and is really looking forward to starting this next chapter of her professional career where she can combine her passion for science with a “hands-on” approach to learning that is ideal for young students.


Lisa Daskalakis
Teacher, 3 year old class

Lisa is very excited to continue working with Audra in the 3 yr old class. She has have been working with 3 & 4 year old preschoolers for the past 10 years. Prior to that, Lisa worked for 8 years in the Scotia Glenville School District with elementary school-aged children. Her son ia a graduate of Scotia-Glenville schools. In her free time Lisa enjoys arts and crafts and spending time with her husband at their camp.


Carol Terwilliger
Teacher, 4 year old class

Carol has a Master's degree in Elementary Education.  She was a first grade teacher at St. Helen's School for six years.  When her children arrived from South Korea, Carol became a stay at home mom.  During that time, she has also enjoyed ushering at Proctors Theatre, being a Girl Scout leader and volunteering in a variety of ways at Glen-Worden Elementary School.  Carol has substituted as a teacher aide and teaching assistant in the Scotia-Glenville Elementary Schools.  She enjoys young children and loves traveling with her family and doing arts and crafts.
